On April 3rd, at approximately 2:00 a.m., City of Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a mass shooting near 10th Street and K Street in the downtown area of Sacramento. The incident resulted in the deaths of six people and shooting injuries of twelve others. During the investigation, City of Sacramento Police Department detectives identified Mtula Tashamby Payton as one of the individuals involved in the shooting.
